Ever tried a sweet dish with turmeric? No, well today I am not only going to show you one but also share a delicious turmeric curry with you. There are so many spices, we just use the way we are thought to do, but they actually can much more than that. With this post, I want to show you, how you can use the same spice for two totally different dishes, a sweet and a savoury one. Let’s make you love this turmeric recipes.

Turmeric is mostly known for its yellow colour, which is essential for all curry spices and therefore a big part of Indian cuisine. It’s also used a lot in East Asia and Africa for all kind of savoury dishes. But have you ever tried it in your breakfast? I bet not.
Curry fried rice – The Classic Way
Prep: 10 min • Cook: 20 min • Total: 30 min • Difficulty: Medium • Servings: 2
150g brown rice
1 big carrot
1 spring onion
1 clove of garlic
1 tsp. curry spice
1 tsp. turmeric
½ tsp. salt
½ tsp. pepper
Dash of chili
- Cook the rice until done.
- Meanwhile was and cut all veggies. Now roast them until golden.
- When rice is done, add them and mix in the spices as well.
- Now roast everything again until crunchy.
- Decorate with some basil leaves and enjoy.
Turmeric muesli – The Sweet Way
Prep: 10 min • Total: 10 min • Difficulty: Easy • Servings: 1
60g rolled oats
250 ml milk (I use almond milk)
Dash of cinnamon
Dash of turmeric
Dash of honey
- Slice banana and crush walnuts and put them with oats in a muesli bowl.
- Add spices, honey and milk.
- Mix well and enjoy.
