It’s been a long time since I wrote the last travel diary and last time I told you it’s going to be a little bit different this year, as my life situation also changed. But now I’m back and before we get started I just want to quickly introduce the new format. It is all about changing things up and making more out of life.
So, this year for me is all about changing things up. It will consist of a little less traveling (still plenty compared to most other people) and a little more creating and developing my business.
But of cause, I don’t want to withhold you anything so in case you are still interested in what I’m doing then keep following this blog.
As a matter of fact, if I’m not traveling I can’t upload travel diaries. However, I am still in Portugal studying, which means I of cause will keep exploring this country and take some weekend trips to satisfy my wanderlust. In addition, I have more travel plans coming up during mid of the year, once I’m on semester break. So, plenty of things to share with you.
In addition, though, I thought it might be interesting for some of you if I’d share some aspects of my daily life with you as well.
And that’s where the change comes in. So, during the next few months, while I’m still in Lisbon I want to do more “a week in my life” kind of format. So, I basically give you insights into how my daily life looks like. How it is to juggle between exploring, surfing, studying and creating a business.
Sharing my experiences and thoughts I hope to inspire you and motivate you to take on some challenges yourself and I also hope to be able to show you that no matter how your life situation looks like, there is always the opportunity to create true happiness in the very moment.
For now, I have planned to upload one of those “a week in my life” kind of posts every second week. This gives me enough content to talk about without being too boring.
So, if you want to see how it looks like to chase your dreams and create a life full of happiness and meaning then stay tuned and follow this series.
And for those who were wondering, I of cause will tell you about adventures I took. After all they belong to my week, right ;).
Okay so let’s get started by sharing my experiences throughout the past couple weeks.
Almost two weeks ago I got back to Lisbon, happy and healthy after my wisdom tooth surgery. I was quite excited to be back here. However, the excitement soon was covered up by the feeling of being lost.
I don’t know what’s up with that but recently I felt this every time I went somewhere different, no matter if I’d been there before or not and also not depending on how much I loved being there.
Anyway, the rainy and cold weather combined with the lack of social engagement made me feel a little less balanced.
I used this week to get my life back together by setting up a new laptop which was so much fun. At the same time, I cleaned out all my old data. I think this so important to do every once in a while, if you’re like me and love to save everything just in case.
It frees the mind and makes space for new things.
After I’ve finished that I started working more on the surprises I plan to release later this year.
Creating is so exciting and always gives me a thrill of joy. I love making something out of nothing with the purpose to help and impact other people’s lives positively. So even though I can’t, yet, tell you more in detail what I’m working on currently, I can tell you I’m so excited and full of joy to be hopefully able to share it with all of you very, very soon.
Besides that, I enjoyed being at the ocean again. Something I missed a lot even though we were only separated for a week.
This week was the first week back at university. I’d never believed if you’d been telling me that I once would look forward to going back to studying, but I did.
I was thrilled to be back and see all those lovely people from last semester. Just seeing them smile at me made me so, so happy.
Also, I was excited about learning new sports. This semester I picked Basketball, Handball, a few different Fitness classes and Gymnastics.
With the ball sports, I forced myself really out of my comfort zone as I used to not enjoy doing them. But it’s all about letting go of the past.
In addition, I started reading “The Power of Now” by Eckhart Tolle, which from the very first page got my focus and I’d been loving it ever since.
It drove away my attention from the past and the future into the now.
Something I’d been unintentionally working on for a few years now and actively chose to improve end of last year.
It’s funny how sometimes you read a book and figure that you’ve unintentionally already done most of what they suggest but now you know what you’re doing and can put even more meaning into what you’ve used to do without knowing.
Have you ever experienced something like that?
Lastly these two weeks had been much about pushing myself. It’s hard for me to go surfing when it is so cold. I think I’ve mentioned that one time, either here or on Instagram.
Freezing is something that makes me feel almost as uncomfortable as surfing makes me feel good.
However, I managed overcome that state of mind and just go. Not every day, but I’m working on it.
In addition, I bought a surf skate to improve my skills outside of the water too. I’ve only tried it a couple times as it just arrived but I’ll keep you posted about the progress.
So, as you can see, no matter what you might have thought, my life isn’t any different from anyone else’s.
But I love it that way. Sometimes living the ordinary life brings as much happiness as going on adventures. As I’ve learned it all comes down to enjoying the moment and putting meaning into every action.
That said, there’s nothing more I can add here so I will leave it to it.
Hope this inspired you to start changing things up too. And now, you all have an amazing weekend and I see you in a couple weeks.
If you want to have even more insights though, check out my Instagram account. There I post stories and updates on my life on a daily base.
And then I’m looking forward to seeing you soon.
