Are you looking for a way to implement more happiness in your every day? Awesome the you are perfectly right here. Most of us can need improvement towards more happiness in our lives and I made it my purpose to help you create a happier and healthier life, because that is what you deserve. On my research and self-experiment towards greater happiness I came across a book that showed me the one and only thing that really matters when it comes to your overall happiness. And today I’m going to tell you what it is.
First though, let me tell you that there are of cause many ways in which you can implement more happiness in your every day. In fact, I found, there are 9 areas of your life you need to constantly work on and optimize towards growth happiness to really feel fulfilled and at peace.
Those areas include your physical health and fitness, your mental health, soul balance and fun, financial term, your knowledge and skills, your social connections, your work, school or day job, your dreams and passions and your personality.
If you manage to constantly reflect and improve in all those areas as well as keep them balanced you are a good step further towards everyday happiness.
However, none of the above really matters if you don’t get that one thing right I’m about to tell you. There is only one simply change of your Mindset that needs to be taken to make all other actions towards lasting happiness a success and it is the following.
While reading the book “The Power of Now” by Eckhart Tolle my eyes were deeply opened. He didn’t write anything I didn’t know before but he put what I’ve always known and already lived in some areas of my life into words and therefore helped me to include this Mindset in all areas of my life and make it focus of my every being.
He says, now is the only true moment you will ever have. The past is gone and the future is uncertain. A famous phrase of him is: “Now is the most precious thing you have. Nothing ever happened in the past; it happened in the now. Nothing will ever happen in the future; it will happen in the now.” This present moment is truly all you will ever have.
Therefore, by living and putting our focus in either past or future we create that feeling of incompleteness for ourselves.
Because we are constantly wanting to be somewhere other than where we are.
Happiness lies within the power to be present in this moment. Accepting all that is and offering no resistance. Knowing that you and your life are complete and perfect at this very moment. You don’t need anything other than what you have in the now to be complete. Love your current stage, embrace the beauty in it and know that what you think will give you greater happiness, does really not exist and therefore can’t give you happiness.
The only thing that really can give you happiness is there already.
Happiness is now.
I know being present and freeing yourself from past and future isn’t easy. It anticipates you are not letting your mind control you and that is for sure not easy.
But the first step to free yourself from the control of time and your mind is to become aware of your thoughts and emotions but not letting them effect your being.
Disidentify with your thoughts and emotions.
You are not your thoughts and you are not your feelings. They are simply a creation of your mind who is constantly referring to past and future to make up identities, confusions and strategies. You don’t need to have words to describe who you are. It’s enough to simply know you are. You are here, feel your heart beating in your chest. Feel the vibrant life in every cell of your body. This is all you need to know. This all you need to be happy.
“Feelings and thoughts are much like waves. We can’t stop them from coming but we can for sure choose which one to surf.”
It wasn’t until I read “The Power of Now” that I fully understood that quote, but now it makes perfectly sense.
Whenever there are thoughts or emotions arising, be there, feel them, watch them but do not judge or analyse. Just simply let them float through your head. Accept them as they come in but don’t let them effect you. Choose to not surf them. Choose to let them go.
By choosing to not let your thoughts and feelings effect you all too much you will be able to get out of your own way and start feeling happiness emerge as you are fully present in your life doing what you love.
You draw your attention away from being controlled by the mind and its false sense of self back to the beauty of being alive. The spirit that lies within everything around you and within yourself.
You don’t need a reason for everything. You don’t need anything to be happy. happiness is in everything, you just need to see and feel it. Stop analysing your every move and start to live in the now.
Become aware of what is around you. See what there is beyond the form. Feel the life and see the beauty in everything that is. My it be the flower, the dog, the chair. Everything has its own beautiful spirit.
Also become aware of the air and the space around you. Isn’t it awesome how much happiness a deep breath can give you.
Focus on how you bring energy and positivity within yourself with every breath you take. Breathe deeply.
Breathe and know that all you have to do to be happy is being here.
Happiness is now.
