Ready for some life changing magic to happen soon? In today’s post, I will introduce you to the 7 books that had the most positive impact on my life, my happiness and my overall perception of success in life. Reading those books rewired my brain. It changed my thinking, made me question my lifestyle and beliefs and gave me immediate actions to take to become happier and more successful in life.
And I want this for you too! So, go ahead, reading just one of those 7 books will throw your life upside down, but in a good way.
Okay let’s not waste any more time and get started.
The Life changing magic of not giving a Fuck
The first book I want to mention is “The Life changing magic of not giving a Fuck” by Sarah Knight.
I already mentioned this book in one of my previous posts about three must read books. In fact, there are a few books on this list that are already in the other post as I read them a while ago and already loved them back then. However, they are so good, I cannot not mention them here.
“The Life changing magic of not giving a Fuck” is about how to stop giving fucks about all the things that don’t serve your happiness.
Sarah gives actionable advice on how to stop caring about what others think, say or how they react to what you do. She guides you through the process of finding out why you are caring and then helps you to make the choice whether to give those fucks or stop giving them.
This book is the best tool to declutter your mind, create space in your life and save money, time and energy to spend on what really is important.
In addition, Sarah is probably the funniest writer I’ve ever read a book from. I almost peed my pants every time I picked up that book.
Hustle by Neil Patel
Another oldie but goldie. Despite most of the other books on this list, “Hustle” is written very strategic, in a more entrepreneurial way. However, that only benefits the content of this book.
“Hustle” is perfect for everyone who wants to get deeper into lifestyle design. This book helps you to find out where your strengths and weaknesses are. It helps you get to know yourself better and at the same time gives you an easy strategy on how you can combine work, side hustle and hobbies.
You will learn how to get the most out of all those areas and eventually turn a side hustle into a fulltime thing. But most importantly it will help you to focus on those things that are not only important to you but that actually benefit your overall happiness in life.
This book is just perfect for everyone who doesn’t know, yet, where to go in life. It will help you find that where.
But it is also perfect for everyone who already knows and just needs some guidance on how to make it happen.
4-hour work week
The latest book I read was “4-hour work week” by Tim Ferriss. Tim is one of my absolute favourite authors. He has a very laidback writing style, easy to follow and with a little bit of sarcasm and irony which makes it fun and entertaining to read. Furthermore, literally every sentence in his books delivers so much valuable content, there really is no time wasted.
In the “4-hour work week” however, he took it even one step further. This book is a step to step guideline on how to create an “always-on-vacation-lifestyle”. No matter if you are an entrepreneur or an employee, a student or a mum, no matter if you love your job or not, this book can help anyone.
The goal is very clear: DEAL – Definition, Elimination, Automation and finally Liberation.
You will define how your dream life should look, where the time wasters are and what really brings you joy in life. Then you eliminate all your pain points and automate those which can’t be eliminated. Finally, you prepare everything for liberation. You create a money source that works without your physical attendance and free up time so you can do whatever you want to do.
This is your recipe to stop waiting for some day to come to enjoy life, but start enjoying it now!
The Power of Less
“The Power of Less” by Leo Babauta is a perfect addition to Tim’s book from above. It’s a very short and simple book that helps you to prioritize and create space in your working life to get more productive.
You get actionable advice on how to batch process, reduce email income, better your time management and declutter your personal and professional life.
So, if you feel you need to create some space in your life, this is a great way to get started.
“Mindset” by Carol Dweck is definitely within the top three of my most life-changing books.
After I read it so many mind patterns, behaviours and actions that lead to happiness but also unhappiness in my life became explainable.
I finally understood what was holding me back in certain areas and what helped me to success in others. I learned that success in life is all a matter of your Mindset and that every struggle and setback can be used to enhance success in your life.
“Mindset” gives you a strategy on how to stop being in your own way and not only remove unhappiness resulting from failure, but also helping you to success to taking on a growth Mindset rather than a fixed Mindset.
The Power of Now
THE MOST LIFE CHANGING BOOK I ever read! “The Power of Now” by Eckhart Tolle.
After reading this book I literally needed a month without any new input because what I just learned was so life changing, my whole brain had to get adjusted.
I’ve never before experienced such a change in my thinking than I have through this book.
I can by far not explain good enough what this book is about. Every word I would find would not be precise enough to describe what value this book delivers. So, let me say just this one thing. “The Power of Now” is freeing you from all pressure, sadness and negativity by taking away time. It helps you to find ultimate happiness in where you are and what you have right now. And it will help you remove destructive mind patterns which are the very source of all unhappiness in your life.
Be aware though, to get the most benefit of this book you have to be open for change to happen. You have to be open to take on a new worldview. Because this book will challenge everything you’ve thought to be true till now.
A new Earth
Also by Eckhart Tolle “A new Earth” starts where “The Power of Now” left off.
It goes even deeper into the topic of surrendering to what is and accepting life as it happens.
This book showing you how you can use the change that started to happen through “The Power of Now” in all areas of your life to bad unhappiness for good.
It helps you to work on yourself, your weaknesses. And it gives you a way out of recurring behaviours that keep taking away the happiness in your life.
But as before everything I say, will not live up to how powerful “A new Earth” is. The best is you read and experience it yourself.
I hope you enjoyed todays post and found some goodies to add to your reading list. Let me know which ones you liked the most, or which impacted your life the most. And if feel free to share the post with whomever you think should read one of those books.
