For all those who are not aware of the concept behind this “chasing dreams” series, here is what it is all about.
Every second week I share some insights into my past two weeks and share with you not only what I’ve been up to but more importantly what I’ve learned though life and everything that has happened.
I reflect on those lessons and see how they’ve helped me to become happier, healthier and closer to my dreams.
Sharing those experiences with you I hope to give you some guidance and inspiration on how you too can see those little lessons life is teaching us every day and take those opportunities as a chance to enhance change and consciousness.
But now, without further ado, let’s get started.
8. to 14. July 2019
I feel like the longer I keep writhing this Chasing dreams diary the faster the weeks go by. In the beginning, I was afraid I wouldn’t have enough content to write about each week, so I decided to write every second. However, by know it would be probably possible to write twice a week because so much change and incredible things are happening and I learn something new and important every day that is worth sharing with you.
However, to not overwhelm you with information or bore you out, I’ll keep it with my 2-week schedule and therefore can also focus a little more on bringing the extra value to you in each post.
So, the past couple weeks there were four things that turned out to be the most valuable lessons for my life, myself and my goal achieving.
Let’s have a closer look at them.
Sleep for momentum
Due to my health collapse earlier this year I got more into the importance and benefit of sleeping.
I think we all know how important it is to rest and get those 7-8h of sleep but most of us don’t. It’s just soo easy to cut back on sleep to get all the other things done that seem to be more important.
But let’s be real, NOTHING is more important than sleep! I could do a whole post about sleep and I will. Actually I did already, but I will do another one very soon.
Anyway, this would exceed this post, so I will just tell you one reason why you should sleep and give you one quick habit you can start building today to improve your sleep.
So one reason we need sleep is to improve your health and build a good foundation for achieving our goals. If you are not rested you won’t have enough energy, motivation or clearance in your head to really give your 100%.
You might argue now with coffee. But let me tell you that coffee does not better your health or give you more momentum, despite of what you experience. In contrary it is bad for your health as it dazzles your brain even if you feel clearer for now.
Additionally, coffee keeps you from sleeping, which keeps you away from dreaming. And dreaming is sooo important to create momentum. Because in your dreams you build this positive affirmation towards your goals and life in general. Who doesn’t love sweet dreams. Waking up well rested and with a smile on your face because you just had this amazing dream about your perfect life, isn’t that empowering?
Okay now what can you do to sleep better? Turn of your phone one 1h before bed and keep it far away from your bed so you can’t reach it. Have a note book instead so you can write down all those thoughts that come in your mind.
Then start to declutter your brain. Let go of all those thoughts that are still in your head and find peace and quiet.
Faith for motivation
Another big part of maintaining momentum and hustle hard towards your dreams is having faith.
I know, I’ve mentioned this a few times already, but that is because it is so important. Faith is the foundation of all achieving. Without believing it can be done, it won’t be getting done.
But today I want to stress the importance of believing in your abilities. Having faith towards you and your power to push through hard times and challenges is giving you the motivation you need to keep up and keep crushing it through busy times.
Know that you are able to accomplish this. Believe that you are able to get through this.
To make this even more powerful, remind yourself of maybe a moment where you managed to get pass a similar or even harder struggle. Then take the feeling mastering this struggle gave you to build that motivation and momentum.
No matter how big the struggle is or how huge your work load is, YOU CAN DO THIS!
Change for relaxation
I know change is scary. I too kind of hate it but also love it. It costs me so much negotiation to believe that change is good. And sometimes fall back into old habits and try to resist change.
However, change is beautiful. It opens up so many new possibilities and opportunities.
This week I once again experienced how awesome it is to change up your whole routine. We as humans are such routine fanatic beings that it is hard for us to give something up that comforts us so much. And although I love my routine and change little things every day, doing something entire different, that I usually never do really made a difference to my overall state of mind.
Last Sunday I had a friend over and as it was my off day, which I’d usually spend going on adventures or meeting friends or so, we just chilled. We literally did nothing.
We laid at the beach for about 6h got about 5 times, two times to get into the water and 3 times to get food.
After those 6h it was only 4pm and we went home where we just continued chilling on the couch until it was dinner time.
Usually I would have thought of this as wasted time and get bored by doing nothing. However, spending it with a friend, talking and just enjoying doing nothing was so relaxing.
I haven’t felt so relaxed and motivated to keep crushing it on Monday for a long time.
So, I can just recommend trying it.
Anticipation for happiness
The last couple years I was so busy enjoying life and the place that I was at that I hadn’t had time to look forward and build up excitement for what was to come even though all those things were equally exiting.
That lead me to drop my need to plan something I could look forward to as I wouldn’t have time for it any way.
However, since I’ve decided to travel again and know where I’m going and also see how close it is already (only two more weeks), I really feel that positive wave of anticipation.
Even though I knew I’ll be traveling around this time, I couldn’t really look forward to it as I didn’t know where it was going and when I’ll go exactly. But now that I know I once more realized how important it is to have something to look forward to, to increase happiness.
I know I preach all the time, and I am 100% convinced, to be happy you have to live in the present and enjoy where you are right now. However, it doesn’t hurt anyone, it sometimes is even rewarding, if you plan some little things you can look forward to in the future.
Of course, you shouldn’t deny the present or want to escape the present and just wait until time passes and you are at this place. However, if you use this future bliss moment to up your excitement about the presence and find a little more happiness and motivation to keep crushing it today, then this is one of the best things you can do for your life’s happiness.
That said, I gadda go back to preparing my vacation now. There’s still lots of work to do as I want my goal achieving and business growth to run further while I’m away. Also, I need to establish a new workout routine and not to forget pack.
So, I’ll leave you to think about those four lessons I’ve learned the past weeks and hope that one or two will improve your life as well, once you apply them. And then I will see you in two weeks again. Then I can also tell you more exciting stuff about my travels.
