If you believe it or not but it’s time for another part of the “chasing dreams” series. I hope you are excited for today lessons.

For all those who are not aware of the concept behind this “chasing dreams” series, here is what it is all about.

Every second week I share some insights into my past two weeks and share with you not only what I’ve been up to but more importantly what I’ve learned though life and everything that has happened.

I reflect on those lessons and see how they’ve helped me to become happier, healthier and closer to my dreams.

Sharing those experiences with you I hope to give you some guidance and inspiration on how you too can see those little lessons life is teaching us every day and take those opportunities as a chance to enhance change and consciousness.

Now though, without further ado, let’s get started!

26th of July to 9th of August

You guys, so much has happened in those past two weeks! I’ve moved from Lisbon back to Munich and just landed in the beautiful South Africa.

For those who know me and have been following my content for longer, know how much I love traveling as a tool for personal growth. It’s just the perfect way to get out of your usual environment, your daily routines and all the other stuff that may or may not be beneficial for your goal setting, personal development and overall happiness in life.

Through traveling you get the chance to completely disconnect and step away from everything that is part of your daily life and get a more objective point of view on it so you can really evaluate whether or not it still contributes to your happiness and gets you further towards your dream life.

And because I’ve been traveling now, I’ve of course learned so much again and detected some things that I want to remove and some things that I want to include in my life or spend more time on.

So here are the most important things I learned:

Just because you don’t feel it doesn’t mean it’s not there

Don’t we know it all, the feeling of missing something or lacking something isn’t always there visibly for us and only once we did or had it again we realize how much we’ve actually missed it?

Same happened to me when I spent time with my family again. I didn’t realize how much I’ve missed them and how inspiring and motivational it can be to spend time with people who believe in you.

It’s just so easy to forget about what makes you feel good once you establish habits and routines.

That is why, and I’ve realized that once again on this trip, we have to come back to those things that used to make us feel good. We not only have to try new things but pick up old things as well to get a new boost of motivation and inspiration.

Going back to something that used to be fun and energizing for you in any way can be the best to do to regain momentum. Also, going back isn’t always a step back it often is a step forward too.

So, don’t hesitate to pick up old things and maybe find an old love again.

Just because it’s different doesn’t mean it’s worse

The second thing I was reminded of was this. We as humans love routines, we love certainty and habits and we love comfort. That is why things that are different to what we are used to scare us. They make us feel uncomfortable and we naturally back away from them.

However, the different can be so beautiful. Just because something is different from what you are used to doesn’t mean it is worse. Most of the time it is better because it shows you new possibilities and opens opportunities.

So, don’t fear the unknown, don’t fear the change. Change will bring good, I promise.

But also, once you are ready and open to receive change in any way it chooses to come, also know that it takes time to adjust.

Know that not everything will be awesome from the beginning and that this process of getting used to something different takes time and can be challenging.

I had that experience about three days in our road trip. I love traveling but as I was so used to my hustle mode and work routine it was challenging at first to give up all control and surrender to the uncertainty and spontaneity this trip had brought with it. Only on the third day I surrendered, I let go of my desire to stay in control and let myself fall into the uncertainty and positive energy that trip brought into my life.

After that I was able to enjoy it fully and grow from it by taking on that bird view and detect potential limiting believes and habits in my work routine.

Surrender isn’t easy, but it is necessary and the next point will give you a way to let go more easily.

A break isn’t a road trip to failure

Taking a break from your work or your goals is not going to make you fail. Nothing bad will happen when you take a break. You will not fall off track, you will not get pushed back and nothing will come crumbling down.

The worst that will happen is that you realize you were heading in the wrong direction, but then you at least know and can adjust your course.

The best thing that can happen however is that you minimize potential struggles or mistakes that might have come by reducing your limiting believes.

Taking a break will not only give you new energy but also a new, more objective point of view.

And knowing that nothing bad will happen, that you will not fail makes it so much easier to surrender and let go of your urge to control.

Give yourself permission

So, give yourself permission to rest. Give yourself permission to take a break. Give yourself permission to let yourself go.

There is so much beauty in letting yourself go. It might be scary too at first because you show vulnerability towards life and put your faith into the arms of the universe.

But once you let go and ready to take life as it comes. Once you are giving yourself permission to go with the flow of life you are able to receive what the universe has planned for you.

And trust me, it’s going to be something amazing.

In addition, a little bit less spiritually speaking, giving yourself permission to relax and enjoy will also take away so much pressure from yourself and you will feel a lot happier and more balanced. Trust me.

Together we are stronger

A few weeks ago, I created that FB group #togetherwearestronger with the purpose to give you and me a space to connect and be part of an amazing community of uplifting and inspiring likeminded people who can help each other achieve their goals, overcome their limiting believes and become a little happier every day.

The group is still in the growing and I’d love for you to be part of it! So, consider this as an official invitation to be part of a tribe of amazing humans who all have the same goal: support and encourage one another on their very individual journey towards their dream life.

Okay enough now. I am just way too excited about this new project to not share it with you. But the point that I want to make here is that asking for help and support or working together doesn’t mean you are weak or can’t do it alone.

Asking for help and also collaboration with people on your goal setting or even hiring a coach or a mentor doesn’t mean you fail or you are less worthy.

It means you are strong, you are confident enough about your abilities that you feel like you can use someone’s advice to make it your own. It means you are having enough faith into yourself and your goals that you make yourself vulnerable and open to receive that help and support.

I used to fear opening up. I never shared my struggles and always did everything alone and it worked. However, since I started opening up and actually asking people for advice and help so much more momentum has come into my life.

There are opportunities now that I have never dreamed of having and I’ve gotten so much further now than I’ve gotten during all that time where I just did it all alone.

So please, do yourself a favour and open up. Ask for help and collaborate with one another. Join my group!

And if you don’t know how then I suggest traveling. Maybe you find your tribe there.

I can just recommend you go traveling yourself and do this other kind of life audit in a more intense and life changing way than usual “at home” life audits.

However, if you don’t have the time, money or inspiration to travel then hopefully these lessons helped you to detect some of the things that are holding you back!
