

We all want to make life changes. We all want to see things going differently for ourselves. Yet so many of us don’t manage to change things. Today I want to share with you how you can make life changes easier to make and what can support you to change things up in your life.
For those of you who are new here, welcome to “Chasing Dreams” a series that teaches you how to live a happier and healthier life. Every month I share some insights into my past two weeks and share with you not only what I’ve been up to but more importantly what I’ve learned though life and everything that has happened. I reflect on those lessons and see how they’ve helped me to become happier, healthier and closer to my dreams.
Sharing those experiences with you I hope to give you some guidance and inspiration on how you too can see those little lessons life is teaching us every day and take those opportunities as a chance to enhance change and consciousness.
I hope that through my story and my experiences throughout the weeks you get new input and maybe a heads up when you need it to keep going with your passions, see the bright side of life and share this positivity across your tribe. I will tell you what I’ve learned about life and happiness and give you inspiration on how to deal with all the ups and downs every one of us has in their lives. It really is all about being real, being authentic and showing that no matter what, there’s always a way to see things positively and take them as an opportunity to learn and grow and create more happiness.
So, let’s get to it, shall we?
I hope you all had a wonderful start to the year. I sure did. It is super exciting to realize that we put so much emphasis on the new year and so much expectations for things to change, that our neural pathways a wired to produce mental change around that time of the year. And so, my life changed completely once New Year’s Day arrived. From the outside, everything was still the same. I was still at home, I was still working in a part time job, I was still not seeing my friends, we were still in lockdown. But from the inside everything changed. I had found new strength, I was happy, I had fire inside of me again, I was excited and hopeful, I believed in myself and my dreams again. And I started to make plans and life changes
The new year showed me once again, the only thing it takes to change is a decision. Once you mentally decide to change, physical change will follow. And because we put so much emphasis on the new year and we program ourselves to make a decision to change. And because this neural pathway is strengthened year after year, the energy coming with it is intense. I truly believe that we need to make a decision to change way before change actually happens and putting such emphasis on a day to make the decision to change can truly help you to make the change lasting and immediate. So, in November 2020 I decided things needed to change. I set myself the goal to make the change beginning 2021 and so I did. Coming New Year’s Day, I switched into a different mindset. I chose to change and take control over my life again and ever since then I have taken action, big and small because my mind is primed to making life changes.
One massive life change I made in the past couple months was to improve on my routines. I truly believe that a good morning and evening routine are key to not only perform well but also to feel good. So, I really sat down and asked myself how I wanted to feel each day, how I wanted to live each day and what I needed or could do every morning and evening to prepare myself to feel and live that way.
For me that looks as following, In the mornings I wake up gently, visualise my biggest desires, repeat positive affirmations and bring myself in a good mood through visualisation, meditation and mantras. I also check in with my dream board and my goals to make sure I know what to do to make them come true today. Lastly, I pick a card for some extra guidance through my day.
In the evenings, I would write a productive list with all the things I want to get done tomorrow to move towards my goals, I again check in with my vision board, journal on my day and make a gratitude practice where I list 3 things I am grateful for today. Lastly, I visualise making my dreams come true again and fall asleep happy and content.
Throughout the past couple months of making life changes inside and outside I also realized once again that we are all more than what we think we are. One of my goals this year is to dive deeper into spirituality to explore myself from a new perspective. And one thing I discovered that although we might know a lot about ourselves, we know our values, our dreams, our goals and our desire, strengths and weaknesses, there is still a whole lot we don’t know and will probably never know. But the wonderful thing with that is that it does give us hope. It means we can over and over again surprise ourselves and push our boundaries and expand our potential.
Another one of my life changes was to change my mindset around what was happening in this world. On New Year’s Day, I decided that Corona does not exist in my world any more. And by that I don’t mean that I am ignorant against what is happening in the world, but rather that I consciously decided it would not control me or my life any more. It meant that I decided to do what I can do, to use the opportunities that are given to me and to find the loop holes in the system to make my dreams come true. It meant I decided that negativity and limitations had no space in my life anymore and that nothing could hold me back from being happy, being who I am meant to be and creating the life I wanted for myself.
